We, the members of Stone Bridge Bible Church, have been brought by divine grace to repent of our sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness and reconciliation with God. We have signified our faith in Jesus through baptism, and have wholeheartedly devoted ourselves to him. Therefore, by God’s grace, intention, and purpose, we make this covenant together.
We will actively seek to renew our minds by faithfully studying God’s Word, asking the Holy Spirit to help us repent, believe, and obey (Romans 12:2). We will faithfully pray for the advancement of the kingdom of God across the world, for the ministries of GPBC, and for the spiritual and physical needs of those in our church body (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
We will endeavor to raise our children and any others entrusted to our care in the fear and admonition of the Lord, and to help others in our church body to the same end (Deuteronomy 6:6-9;Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:20-21).
We will seek to make disciples of all nations by maintaining a distinctly Christian witness in the world, walking in good deeds as God has ordained, and sharing the gospel with people as the Spirit provides us with opportunities (Matthew 5:6, 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).
We will strive to abstain from sinful desires and avoid every kind of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22; 1Peter 2:11). We will be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave us (Ephesians 4:31-32). We will rejoice at each other’s happiness and bear each other’s burdens and sorrows with tenderness and sympathy (Galatians 6:1-2; Hebrews 3:13).
We will preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, taking special care to avoid a critical spirit and gossip (Romans 14:19). We will encourage one another, and admonish one another in love when needed (Ephesians 4:1-3; 1 Peter 1:22).
We will faithfully participate in worship services and member meetings (Hebrews 10:24-25). We will faithfully support the ministries of GPBC through regular and cheerful giving (1 Corinthians 16:2). We will faithfully serve, using our gifts for the making and maturing of disciples of Jesus, actively participating in ministries in which we are involved (Romans 12:6; Galatians 5:13, 6:10; Ephesians 4:12-13).
We will submit to the loving oversight and shepherding of the elders, and participate in the restoration process (Matthew 18:15-17; Ephesians 5:21; Hebrews 13:17).
May we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
